nothin lasts forever.. not even memories of you will

memories fade with time
like the blurred image cast on smudged glass,
so do feelings except for those that come with some sort of need or want..
our insecurities are what keeps us secure,
our imperfections are what keeps us making the best of everything.
there was a time i felt you that seemed to last forever..
but forever's so short now my dear.
will get shorter with time running fast,
with light trying to catch shadows,
with you and me trying to be the best we can be,
with memories out running one to replace another,
with feelings so new and divine,
like an old star dies and a new one dawns,
like we're here today and gone tomorrow.
what separates night from day is light,
like ego and hurt separates us..
both were never meant to be together.
else red and blue would have looked the same
and noone would have built walls or stairs..
but this was what it was intended to be.
words have no power to erase but dilute.
one like me has no power to change or replace.
in this ever changing world and never changing minds,
its no shame to weave a world of your own..
cooped up where hate and hurt can't penetrate.
