A Heart's Grand Mistake

November 12, 2011

Upon delicious worlds entwine

Nothing starves far more as many

Glisten’d desire drank deep sweet wine

Decadent sentiments sought fools if any

Trembling fingers doth cross that line

Grandiose consequence fortune'd aptly.

Harrisham Rhyme:

intriguing of a write here...J.V. --- the restrictive form gives a challenge and gets the mind moving in this type of style...I do like the verse...and the picture sum up much of the feel...

I've been challenged to write a poem in Shakespeare's style (still working on) and this reminds me a bit of that endeavor. Again, while I personally don't really write to one particular style or framing recognized by the masses, I do enjoy the playful way this works. May have to give it a go myself when the muse moves me to do so.

After all, forcing poetry is not something any of us do with any serious thought first.

An intriguing form, and one absolutely ignorant me has never heard of, so, thank you so much for the introduction.
What a wonderful poem you've created in Harrisham Rhyme too; what impresses me is the return to traditional phrasing which truly adds history to the laid-out requirement.
