momma i dont like how that tastes

momma i dont like how that tastes

A Poem by JacJak
"

I hear often to write about the five senses to give some imagery. But little do I write about taste. Simultaneously, I was thinking of bad tastes that you can actually have while waking up, as well as swindling someone or letting some one down.

"

popped out of my mommas tum

few months later started to suck my thumb

momma i dont like how that tastes

i wuz walkin down the street chewing on my bubble gum

chew too fast and i bit my tongue

momma i dont like how that tastes

i wuz fightin a kid at my school

hit me in the mouth, blood poured pool

momma i dont like how that tastes

Tried getting into college over all those whizzes

cheated on my tests and my quizzes

Momma, I don't like how that tastes

Took my lovely  first date to go dine

Got very drunk with dark red wine

Momma, I don't like how that tastes

Sat and did nothing while my friends went to war

Picked my nose as if it were a chore

Momma, I dont like how that tastes

Thought I'd be a lawyer and make some money off of folks

Got too full of myself and life had its jolts

Momma, I don't like how that tastes

Had a few bratty, snot nosed kids

Sent them to the schools with the highest bids

Momma, I dont like how that tastes

Time chugged along as I grew old and fat

Thought of all the people I had crossed, when looking back

Momma, I don't like how that tastes

Mother,

I know you aren't always around to help me get past these hard times

But I try to correct myself through writting these rhymes

I hope that all that I've tasted and thought it to be gross

Will all be guzzled away when I make this toast:

To all those who have been mistreated,

To those I have left, betrayed, misleaded,

I feel very jealous and conceited

because all that you have to yourselves

You never tasted because you leave it on your shelves

and live your lives like innocent elves

Who are most pure and most chaste

Do not cringe in pain

because everyone but me

Does not taste

Author's Note

JacJak
What started me off to write this was the last couple of stanzas before the address to Mother and the toast with certain ideas of people cheating others-a pretty broad topic to ramble on about. I don't really know if my rhyme or meter goes along with anything in particular, I don't rhyme too often...

I really enjoyed this piece. It make me think of a little boy who got suffed up at first, but once the boy started getting older he realized he needed his mother for more than just the little things. I like it! especially the ending
