Christmas Hope

Thank you Lord for all your grace to every person here,
Thank you for the gift you sent that we all hold so dear.
You gave your only son to us, so all the world might see,
The way we can get home to you, and live eternally.

We ask that you forgive us for the times that we forget,
To praise our savior Jesus for the paying of our debt.
We celebrate his birth this day, our voices shout and sing,
Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ, our hope, our light, our king!

Help us Lord each day on earth to be that hope and light,
To all those who are suffering, and struggling with their plight.
The hungry and the homeless, the ill and the confused,
Those who’ve lost a loved one, and those who’ve been abused,

To those who may have lost a job with bills they cannot pay,
To those who are addicted, to those who’ve lost their way.
To those who cry out in their sleep for someone who will care,
Let us be the one who is an answer to their prayer.

We kneel before the manger, and praise the baby’s name,
Our hope we put in Jesus, understanding why he came.
On this day our savior came with truth for all to give,
He came to earth for all of us, and died so we might live.

So thank you for the gift of hope we celebrate today,
You know I am a sinner, yet you love me anyway.
If I die before I wake, this moment I proclaim,
That Jesus is my savior, and I praise his holy name!

This is beautiful. You managed to connect the troubles that we have now to the Lord. Something this poem brought to my mind was that back in those days Mary and Joseph might have had financial troubles just like we're having today. They looked to the Lord for help, just like we must today. Your poem can bring inspiration to many people...
