woodlandA Story by justlikea short descriptive peice i wrote a few years ago, let me know what you think.Placid and motionless the leafless towers stand tall and straight like soldiers at attention, but without face. The snow is falling, covering the frosted ground and vegetation, which are now just skeletons of a life past. There is no skyline visible to see, only a constant whiteness that reigns over all, with its cuttingly cold air sweeping through the scene, past the seemingly lifeless trunks of giants and over the infinite spotless plane of snow. No life is at work here, no busy souls rushing to survive, the cold although innocent in sight, has conquered this land, killed the week and subdued all others who once roamed this soil and lived with great titans that were once a luscious green. The snow also takes another victim for its count, this time not an air breathing creature, but a wooden ruler of this kingdom. The frost has crept into its wounds and forced this soldier to fall in its place, and since there is no thing to hear or see this tragedy, the only impact made is its coffin in which it lay. © 2010 justlike |
