Just Leave

Just Leave

A Poem by justjenn_2u

Realization, we are self centered

So does the strength lie within

Unseen and rough terrain, I have entered

Smile with no scars on your skin

Your judgement is casting people to hell

Failure can kill the spirit

From your utmost pedestal, I soon fell

I taste your blood, you bigot

You’re the greedy one eating my poison

Never wanted you to care

Drink more of the shallow and the broken

Escape lures, I leave no prayer

Very heartfelt jenn. Your writing is a must read. I feel that this piece has a destination, , meaning it is discretely directed at a certain recipient, much like my own work. I look forward to seeing more pieces penned from your talented hand. Great job!!!

we too often let others influence us, and that causes us self-doubt and loathing because of their judgements...i like how this twists that back on them.

I really love the final four lines of this poem, "You're the greedy one eating my poison; never wanted you to care; drink more of the shallow and the broken; escape lures, I leave no prayer." Really amazing. Great work!

that's really heavy jen. too often we give space to those that are unqualified to judge in our head, and our perception of their invalidated judgment feeds off our soul creating more poison.

we should mindful not to let their opinions of us validate who we are.
