Memorys

A Poem by Emily Mcpherson

I remember the days when my biggest worry was what i was gonna do that day
Back when times where so simple
But that was back then
I miss the days where we would play flash light tag till mom called us home
The time where we where all happy
And nothing else mattered
Now it is worrying over my kids
Living far from my family
Wanting a hug from my mom
My dad to tell me it will be alright
Life was easier back then
What do i where to school
Should i go hang out with friends tonight
Now it is did i call and make that appointment
Do we have enough gas
How long till payday
How i long for the days spent in Canada
Nights around the campfire
Days out hiking or fishing
Me and mom rock hunting
Now it is hunting for lost bottles
Cleaning diapers
Doing laundry
And sleepless nights
But even tho times now are hard and sometimes lonely
The memory's of the past keep me warm
They bring a smile to my face
Sometimes even a tears
So when i need help making it though the long days
Dad still hugs me and lets me know it is all okay
Mom still kisses my head
We still play flashlight tag
Have campfires
And find that perfect rock
We are all together again
Laughing and smiling
No matter how hard life can be
All i have to do is close my eyes and i’m back to all them fun family times
Because memory's are forever

Memory is a two edged sword - the 'good times' elate and the 'bad' - well - they just need a quick scan and move on! Love the poetic story flow (but noticed a few spelling errors) and, only a suggestion, reduce the stanza gaps i.e.:

Someday you'll wish for the good ole days when you had to worry about making that appointment, washing diapers, checking that fuel gauge.
Tomorrows memories are being made today, enjoy them while you can.
This is the second piece of work I've read today involving the past and good old days. It must be national good ole days day.
I truly enjoyed your reminiscing of past times. We all have a past.

I love it. I love everything that you represent in this poem. The deepness, the flashes of light, all of it. Great job! :)
