Why Do We Forget Dreams?

Why Do We Forget Dreams?

A Poem by Justin HA

Why Do We Forget Dreams?
Sometimes when we wake up, we lie still in our bed trying to remember our dreams.
At first we remember our dreams perfectly, then we start to lose some details, finally we are left without the memory of even dreaming.
Why do we forget dreams?
Why do we dream?
Are dreams the escape from the hardships that we face in the real world?
Or are they the reason we decide to fall asleep?
Dreams are meant to be sentimental.
They are symbols that reflect who we are and what we yearn for.
But if this is the case, then why do we forget dreams?
Dreams are forgotten only to have the dreamer chase their dreams.
They are not meant as an escape from reality.
Dreams are meant to be chased out of our minds and into the world.
Why else are our goals called dreams?
The world is hard and unfair at most times.
But in these times, we try to make life our lucid dreams.
