PrimalA Poem by JustinI wrote this about the chaos and focus on military conflict in our world and conflict, bit of a dark place it came from. Meant for an older audience cause of the relation to violence I suppose.
What is this world but a war zone?
A garden? This Eden that demands a toll of blood. We trim the lead tulips and cut away the white weeds. Surrender is even less of an option than defeat. A matter of showing off who's bomb is shinier. Just a rock can work but...they hurt, but not enough. "My rock is bigger" to "My missile has a greater blast radius." We"ve been like this from the beginning, Since we learned that sticks and stones do indeed break our bones. Only now our malevolent leaders can sate their blood thirst, Through a young man's dedication and loyalty to his country. Why bother with the peace and love bull crap? Money talks and War speaks louder than peace. Live and let live......a phrase falling onto deaf ears. Don't talk to me about peace, don't tell me about war. They're both wrong in the same argument. Can't live with it and can't live without it. War......a fancy word for predatory chase. Back to the basics of impulsive rage and greed. Take a bite of the meat and let the blood drip, Give in to the animal you once were, the killer. We've softened up into a society full of prey, but...... There's a little predator in all of us. A little blood lust to pass around for everyone. The animals kill and give in to impulse, But so do humans. There's only one difference between us and them, Our claws are bigger than theirs....... © 2012 JustinAuthor's Note
