A Poem by Is It Reality, Or Is It A Game?

 Simple words

so absurd

how can they cause such confusion?

Feelings true

    falsified you

hearts connected through lies and delusion

       Paint a picture

tell a tale

           show me your true colors

Expose and hide

    win and fail

 all I see is black

                  Mirage/facade

        toy with me

              until I cut those strings

    Feel the heat

from the angry puppet that has been cut loose

                                Is it real?

                            what you feel?

how can you know for sure?

                 make a decision?

        make a choice?

               ignore, or hear

                   my voice?

              did they know?

                   do they now?

what will they think of you?

                awake, my Prince

                     your slumber is through

                                 all in all,

                               I do love you

don't tell me how to show it

don't tell me how to know it

don't tell me how to feel it

don't tell me how to see it

don't tell me how to be it

no need to love me anymore

             I weighed my options

             the risk was worth it

feel the intensity of the lights

what are they thinking of you?

             secrets exposed

are you blinded? or do you now see?

  is this real?

       am I lying?

do I speak truth to you?

                           is it painful

                       to think

                             my amusement today

                                 means more to me than

  your heart?

I felt that this was a pretty good conveyance of the uncertainty of human interaction. Communication through speech is faulty enough, given its room for errors, but with the added element of truth, almost nothing heard can be believed as it is. One is left in a constant state of wonder as to others' intentions, and this poem captured that wonder.
