what face?

what face?

A Poem by Justice

What do you see when you look at my face?

Do you see something that looks out of place?

Is it my brown hair or dark eyes?

Or do you see past my physical disguise?

Do you see through these simple lies?

The truth that lies behind my eyes

My wary caution and fright

The way I try to fight

Or maybe you’re taken by my petty façade

You probably think I’m just a little odd

But you can’t see me through this curtain

You don’t see my real face for certain

The things I feel and the stories I make

These are the things that are not fake

Now do you see what I am?

Or will you turn away, again?

Some people won't turn away from you when you show who you are. Your poetry is beautiful; if it's a semblance of you, that is a good thing.
