The Wedding FeastA Poem by Doug BlairParable from Matthew 22
His tales have become even stranger.
His parables more probing yet. His instruments wooing and cutting. His imagery hard to forget.
And now in the City he meets them;
Just where will this dialogue take him?
But Jesus has set an agenda,
Today’s tale was set at a wedding.
But all of them made their excuses.
The King was aggrieved by their rebuff,
Then servants were sent to the country,
Now here’s where the parable leaves us.
And doubtless the rabbis are rabid.
Yes, what kind of King seeks the lowly
It must be a strange kind of kingdom, © 2012 Doug BlairAuthor's Note
