ready for an exit.

ready for an exit.

A Poem by Prose-full
"

Free yourself from what ever prison you may be in

"

sitting here..in this café – movie entrance way
as an antonym of relishing the past

feeling terribly exposed;
yet fully clothed

opening a past chapter
for a clearer future.

i see people pass-some to smile some to be hard at work
i wonder if they too, sometimes, feel this.

my heart bleeds
my breathing speeds.

i stare at the letters P U S H
ready for an exit.

my left foot swings off the stool
“can i have a cup of ice please?”

to cool my insides
un heat the flame; un torch the torch.

rescue the little girl
soothe the boi

cry for “him”
laugh for freedom is just around the bend..

…i shall not cry for nothing….

“I shall not be moved just like a tree that’s planted by the waters.”

-

The original spiritual took its inspiration from Jeremiah 17:7-8:

“Blessed is he who

trust the Lord…
he shall be like a tree planted by waters."
