i'd like to wake up

i'd like to wake up

A Poem by Prose-full

when..

will i wake up,

from the dream of love

and it actually be lying next to me

when..

will i wake up,

and have this ability

to write about a love that i can touch

can see

can feel

other than through virtual

windows

and subliminally heightened psyche

that only remembers what life could be

with a little love in place

when..

will i wake up

and reach over to kiss

and cuddle

caress and

run my fingers through

her hair

and over the silhouette of

her soft skin and

when..

will i wake up

to the reality that

love has ended and begun again........

Great write - the longing is sincere and well portrayed. I believe we have all had feelings like this at one time or another and so I can empathize - great work. Thank you.

This is a really lovely poem, and captures the longing for love in something other than dreams. Very nice use of repetition & description, especially in the second to last stanza. Great job!!!
