Who's my One and Only?

Who's my One and Only?

A Poem by Kimmee Jean
"

A question I always seem to ask myself even now

"

Watching diamonds sparkle in the fading sun light

I look at how everyone seems to find just the right stone

While it seems I pick them up and toss them aside, dissatisfied.

Have I passed it a long time ago, losing my chance?

Is it in my hand right now, sparkling in the last flames of the day?

Or is it somewhere far, where I might never find it?

I close my hand and bring it towards my heart.

I close my eyes and pray its the one

I close myself from everyone else, trying to listen.

Watching hearts glow in the moonlight

I look at how everyone seems to find just the right heart

While I hold on to yours and hope its the one.

wow!!! well risa, this def going in my favorites. I feel EXACTLY the same way right now. It seems like I'm always surrounded by couples and happy marriages and relationships, when I can't even find a good man to date. It's sad, and I love the way you wrote this piece. I loved it. 100/100

This is such a common, ponderous question

I like every stanza here.

eloquent comparison.
despite the fact that reading this makes me think of good luck chuck, i like this writing.
i'm a bit uneasy as to what this bodes, but i'm throwing caution to the wind.

This poem makes me think about how people are so afraid to risk their heart and setting them into someone's hands, not knowing whether or not if they'll break or if they'll cherish it. I liked this a lot. Very good. :)
