Sometimes...

Sometimes...

A Poem by Kimmee Jean

Sometimes I wonder...

If keeping the peace was worth it

If that peace was for everyone

I didn't want to keep hearing

those arguemetns or see my mother's tears

I didn't want to feel helpless

As i forced my dry red eyes to sleep

I didn't want to confuse the little eyes

that saw but didn't understand

Now, I heat up the arguements and

walk on my mother's lonely tears

Now, I don't feel anything as I

Exhaust myself to sleep

Now, the little eyes cry so much

That they don't want to see

Is this really peace or just a

tense neutrality?

Is there really such a thing

as peace, love, and the pursuit of happiness?

Sometimes I wonder...

You have a very strong mind, and it shows in your willful words. There have been many times when I wondered the same thing...

A job well done on this one.

keeping the peace is a difficult task... its not always easy in a house full of people with different personalities (i speak of personal experiences) but eventually it all works out...
i think this piece is great... and a lot of people will be able to relate to this i am sure... nicely done
