Live Action Role PlayA Poem by Kimmee JeanMy boyfriend and his friends get together at a park and LARP. I don't play myself but it is interesting to watch and listen. This is of my first time meeting everyone in a LARPing game.
Creeping along the edges of the light
Never getting to close lest end up blind As a group meets up and begins rituals Foreign to me as a language unknown Music thumps through speakers Muffling the conversations held in clusters Strange hand signs are done to make decisions And personas of creatures emerge from minds of these... Vampires? Witches? Ghouls? I know not yet I watch with interest Not wanting to be noticed and interrupt Laughter erupts and strange movements are done Stragglers travel from cluster to cluster Words exchanged Spells cast Strategies cooked I step slowly from the shadows to a corner Unnoticed by the crowd Words of Princes and betrayal and silly creatures begin to wander in my ear Everything is new and exotic These topics and conversations Papers passed Points accumulated Skills learned Familiar faces begin to notice mine Some wonderful, others horrid A straggler comes towards my corner And I ask what all this is He smiles and answers "LARP"
