Alaskan Prairies

Alaskan Prairies

A Poem by B. Stearns
"

The human longing for nature and freedom. (inspired piece)

"

He told you it would be dangerous

And it went right through your ears

You have been told it so many times

I’m sure it has lost its meaning to you

I don't even think it had meaning to you in the first place

But what I find ironic

Is that you knew

You knew from the beginning

And I think when I figured that out

I really understood

You look at the cold

Freezing on your fingertips

Sharp against your face

It’s only your footprints out here

This is untrudged Earth

It's scary

Lonely too

You find an excuse in the beauty

And I know you are scared too

No matter how much you try to ignore it

But fear and loneliness is an indulgence

Isn’t it?
