Digital SkyA Poem by B. StearnsOf confronting Dissociation.
You’ve got me deep down in the trenches
And I’m not sure who you are What you’ve done with me Or wherever you’ve put me I can’t think of you But you’re there In that gray space Even when I’ve got everything to think about Watching a friend smile And I’ll close my eyes Hearing the sounds of plastic And water You steal my dreams away What I wish to write And at the bottom of every sentence I read I hope I’ll find you there See you clear As if the backdrop were the sky And I’ll pin you to the stars while I’m sleeping Drag a knife across your throat And I’ll hug you And I’ll cry Because I just couldn’t do it. © 2022 B.
