Why Her

Why Her

A Poem by Joshie MacCasim

WHY HER

By Markeecha Forcell

As I stare into your chocolate eyes

I see my face and misery

As I reflect to the time that pass

All  I see you and me

I sit weary in my bedroom window

As tears of joy run down my face

One part of me knows you’ll never hurt me

One part of  me says “get out his way”

As the gates of joy close so swiftly

You’re the knight that makes sure I get in

Rescuing the maiden that’s in distress

For the fairest maid you must defend

As time pass I gaze into a heartless blunder

A world that is so clear to me

At nights I lay my head down and wonder

What made you choose a girl like she….

Does she let you lead her …..

Is she passive and calm

Does she make you feel all brave and strong

What is her long bronze hair

Or her perfect shape

Is it her laugh or is it or cape

Is she superwoman

Or wondergirl

What’s makes this chick rule your world

You say she’s beautiful

Well let me see

The girl in the picture looks like me

So as my face turns bluster

And my cheeks turn red

I laugh with joy and sorrow as I lay my head

For many months I Love thee so

Wondering if he loved me

For if he loved me as I loved him …

that’s a though I’ll never know .
