Moon Drunk Beast

Moon Drunk Beast

A Poem by just_a_writer__

Hello there,
Moon drunk beast
Howling at the moon.
Are you scared to hear
Your answers, too?
Why you must keep
Your mind,
Your mere existence
Fortified,
Surrounded by a concrete wall?
Are you scared to hear the answer?
Or are you scared that you already
Know it?

Hello there.
Moon drunk beast.
You and I aren't too unalike.
Heart-ache and distance
has shaped our wisdom,
Our souls.

Hello there,
Moon drunk beast,
Howling at the moon.
The moon hears your despair.
Her light gleams on your body,
Yet she does not reply.
Instead her light is a reminder
Of all her unanswered questions,
And unspoken lies.

Hello there,
Moon drunk beast,
The moon can see your anguish,
Yet she turns her head
And lets the sky grow dark.
Denying you her light.

Hello there,
Moon drunk beast.
You won't get the answer
That you so desperately seek.
The heart-break and pain
Doesn't hold a message for you.
There isn't always a lesson,
Or answer,
To justify how things
Have been.
