What Secrets Do The Swans Keep?

When it lays it's head down

onto it's wings, 

To rest for the night, 

what secrets does the swan keep?

When the sun rests

and sinks behind the Earth,

What does the swan dream of?

Does it dream of the cool water

drifting and running slowly underneath it?

Does it dream of the children playing 

and throwing bread to it?

What secrets does the swan keep?

When it's white feathers lay flat, 

and the day has ended. 

The stars that light the sky 

like little pinholes

in the quite night. 

When the park has emptied, 

What secrets does the swan keep?

An interesting question to ask indeed. Swans are magical birds and most of us are captivated by them. Recently passed the wonderful nightscape on the river Avon of swans swiming after dark, it was indeed a lovely scene. You nset this question in an interesting free verse. Again there is unwarrented repitition of the word 'sky' in the final stanza.
