Self-warA Poem by justAlannaThe battle of us and humanity. We all exist in a world of strangeness. Baffled by love and hate. Our children, once blessed by the supple paws of innocence, become bitten by the famished carnivore of self-war. Their minds warped by the obscenities of our culture. Each new day on this earth tweaking their lifestyle for the better or worse. This planet is a striking place to inhabit; from the corals of Australia to the deserts of Death Valley and all the way back to the subzero Antarctic. Surrounded by mammals and life forms of great proportions. Slugs in the form of Why are we encircled with people of this loathing class? Those beings lurk in prisons, while the rest of us loom on the outer rim of its gates, creating a prison of our own. We murmur gossip & scandal behind the backs of our closest kept friends, provoking their distrust in us. Stabbing ruthlessly at the hearts of the one’s we are in love with, through adultery and lies. Never much contemplating the outcome of our devious plots. We are devoted to tearing down other human beings to the point of ultimate mind sabotage. Grinding and diminishing what little self-confidence they contain. Aerating their existence with judgments about their appearance and critiquing and circumcising their body image. Judging their color and downgrading their ethnic race. God made us all unique to show his creative variety. Why must we insult this variety with such prejudice? When the day arrives that love conquers all enemies and everyone can be different without differentiating, we will call it world peace.
