I Took A Chance

I Took A Chance

Many years ago, my emotional heart died
I, was the only one that knew, I  cried.
The pain I lived with was hugely enormous
and was something I could not discuss.

My heart, I  began to ultimately hide
no one would I ever let inside.
Insulation was wrapped around it
keeping safe my very vulnerable spirit.

Slowly, I built a strong high wall
camouflaging it from all.
I then, locked it's door
so it kept me from loving anymore!

Then about six weeks ago
someone I didn't know
began whispering words to me
trying to set my hardened heart free.

"Jimmy, you need me, I surely need you!
We both need a very caring breakthrough!
Just trust me, give me a chance please?
Your distrust and pain, I will help to ease!"

"Ok, I will give you a try
so please don't hurt me or make me cry!"
"Jimmy, you have made the right choice!"
I hear her say with such a gentle calming voice.

Now, my heart is open and free!
Slightly protected, I won't give it away you see!
But, with blue eyes, I took this very huge chance,
so we both can be happy to love and dance!

We both have enormously big romantic hearts,
as this is what drew me to her from the start!
The feelings we are sharing is important to us.
Then becoming soulmates is really a nice plus!

It has been many a year since I have felt this way
and because of her, life is so much better everyday!
