Calm

Calm

A Poem by Vincent Makhathini

The wind chases whats on its path,
some objects endure
Wrestling and toiling with curses
and trickery of envious beings
Out to destroy,
like savage wolfs devour what's in its path
Even though pierced by spears,
by loved ones
Like a lamb, this lady remains
Keeping the peace till the end of all sorrows

Beauty lives here, truth be told it comes in three folds
Foes will be foes, denying the truth though
A wise lady blocks that though
That's nothing but the truth
