BlackRoseAcidRain

A Poem by Vincent Makhathini
"

Abstract meets reality and true expression about the harsh words which people speak, not knowing they are hurting you. The piece also touches on the feeling of loneliness.

"
Acid rain burns
My serenity to ruin, with just a single drop
This hurts, my umbrella of thoughts
now this body is nothing but shelter to a, regret, filled soul that's lost
These words I'm being called just dwell inside me
burying my inner being till I am no longer seen

My first cry was like that of a heavenly angel
Now the gates are shut on my face,
When a river of tears start flowing
I slowly submit to the life I'm living
Not realizing that I'm losing, myself
Instead of rising , I'm sinking
Just imagine having to live for the rest of your life bleeding
With no mortal to dress your wound,
instead you are thrown away in the woods

I'm just a young one breaking rules
Gone astray when I need to be pulling my life together,
instead I have de constructed every wall I built
Breaking rules and enjoying deeds that are taboo
I grew

Acid rain burns
