About a breakup

 

I sit and stare

as he turns

to walk down

the dusty road

He made his decision

to go his own way

not a goodbye, or

see ya later was said

So here I sit

on my rocker

with tunes playing

in the background

I want to call him

maybe, he would

turn around, or not

all I see is the blue horizon

This poem is written with such an openness and genuine expression of longing and sadness that it moved me a lot.The sadness of seeing someone go and the helplessness at not being able to make someone change his/her mind/decision-that feeling is so well expressed here and yet so very subtle and understated not loud-as poems of these type easily have a tendency to be.
