Everyday

A poem about everyday life!

I get up everyday
to do something
don't we all
have things
that must get done
not because we
want to, but have to!

Today is laundry,
so I gather them up
to hunt for a free washer
I then go back
to pop a few pills
that the Dr. deems
a neccessity, oh
 I hate taking pills

Then sit to enjoy
a nice cup of coffee
and watch the wind
outside, that's blowing
another change to come
one day hot, the next cold
possible rain- bah
I have my doubts

Laundry done- check
dishes done- check
breakfast & lunch - check
I even swept the patio
though it won't help
the leaves will return

Now to sit and write
hoping my thoughts
transfer to the blank page
before me, so I can
cohesively put down
what rattles inside my brain
thus I do everyday!
