You use a great metaphor of the emptiness of the soul here..I am moreso amazed cause I thought on similiar lines when I saw the picture.It seems you absorbed the picture into your conciousness and looked beyond the obvious..Moving,poignant and beautifully done.

This has a serene calmness beating within it which manages to convey the question the reverie floats into like soft lapping waves. Perhaps though, this is indeed how we are feeling at reflective moments such as this..and it isn't always -as many assume- written from the brink.
The mystery of the old pier's wreckage becomes the old mystery of the soul.. And it is done pleasantly and without violence. A peaceful protest.
This poem merits more attention! We can so easily look into someone else's shell, but forget the one that we left behind. I give this poem a "BIG" thumbs up. I loved the imagery!!
