Just my take on life!

"

As I begin my morning, I open my front door for some fresh air. Ah a glorious morning has come, cool and eeriely quiet. I hear a bird squawking not far from my front door. Just then a siren blasts shattering the silence as it goes by. I wonder ' who was hurt this time? Was it a car crash, a shooting, or some minor thing?' Maybe they will report it on the news later.

I have NPR on currently, and some one is talking about an article he wrote, but I am not paying much attention to him. Because out of my other ear, all I hear are cars zooming by. Sure wish I had a car, but where would I go- it's Sunday? The day which some go to church, then out to lunch. Done are the days when people would have a picnic, and enjoy their church friends company.

Which brings me to something I had thought about last night. It seems everyone is obsessed with knowing all about movie and television stars lives. Whether it be an actress or actor- some people need to know every gritty detail about what they are doing, going or even being with. And when they fall from grace, the media picks and plucks at them until they are a mere shell of a human. Many are left emotionally exposed, only coming out of hiding when its absolutely necessary. Then there are the few who have hardened to where nothing seems to bother them. Yet, I am sure deep down it does, you know bother them.

Which brought me to another thought..... “ How well do you know your neighbors? Do you pay close attention to what goes on in there lives? Do you even care to get to know their names, their children's or even pets names?” I myself have been guilty of this- like there is a woman who lives below me. But I don't know her name, I do know she works and is hardly home. So that is something I must remedy, and be more polite when I see her. My immediate neighbor is gone each day, as I do know he is in school and working to be in the medical field. He is always in a good mood, even though he drives over 20 miles or more each day.

I know a few others, and chat with them when they happen to come out of their homes. I say the usual ' hi', how are you today?' It seems we are just doing the best we can and taking one day at a time. I have enough going on in my own life to even worry about what the stars are doing in their lives. And it seems so many are dying, and it is sad- like the recent deaths of Dennis Hopper, Rue McClanahan, and Gary Coleman. But to know every gritty detail of their lives is wrong. They worked in an occupation that they enjoyed, and hopefully you felt the same when you watched them perform. Think of it this way- would you like someone hounding you, prying into your personal life? Then you should allow them the respect to let there personal life be that- personal!

I am sure it's exciting when one has a baby, gets married or whom is dating whom. But is it really necessary to know any other details of their existence? To constantly hound them, with picture after picture? Or treat them like they don't have minds of their own, making fun of a comment they have said at one time or another. And reading into it more than they should. I won't name anyone in particular, but I am sure he did say something- just to see if he was being monitored. Sure enough a show made fun of his comment; so in the end, maybe he got the last laugh and not them!

So my point of this is- “Has your life, your existence on this grand planet that man keeps trashing- that boring you must fulfill your desire to delve into other people's personal lives? Does there say somewhere that once you become a star you give up all rights to your personal life? Some things are and should be left out of bounds. That's why many leave the U.S., to have a normal life for not only themselves, but there children!

They do a job to entertain you, much like a banker does his job of holding your money. Or the dry cleaners job is to clean your clothes that you happen to drop off. They are no different than any movie or television star. We teach our children to be nice, kind and respectful of others. Yet this sudden interest with reality shows have just the opposite effect. People thrive on them, and just can't wait to see what would happen next. I for one don't, I either sit and read, do some writing of poetry or stories; practice my French language, or work on my artwork projects. My daughter has come for the weekend, so she should be coming over soon.

I worry more about my plants, and how they will survive with the impending heat. Or how creative I will be today- can I pull one more story or poem out of this brain and heart of mine? I also worry about my friends that are somewhere out in this vast world. But as far as movie stars, I am sure they are like me wondering about the volcano, the oil spill, the devastating tragedies that are happening worldwide. Not who's dating whom, or sleeping with another. Lets get back to the real news, and give the actors and actresses their private lives back to them!
