My Life as a Self-Made God

My Life as a Self-Made God

A Poem by Ice QueenJen
"

Poem to go with a picture for a contest!

"

Here I sit atop

a self made throne

Oh, what a regal life

sometimes it's tedious

and boring at times

I look up during

the day and worship Ra

the Sun God's warmth

beating down as I look

down on my subjects

the poor peasants

who sometimes wish they.....

they were me!

But, they don't know

how I wish the tables

were turned, “I” in there place

where life is a struggle

yet, for them - so simple

no lands to rule

nor people who bore.....

bore me to death

with their constant rhetoric

and the women I have

only want me for

my many glittery jewels

diamonds, rubies and such

For me as I go around

being carried on this holy couch

to some I have become a God

for others nobodies prize

This life I will lead

until the day of my death

I'll be the one called the

Pharoah of Egypt!”
