My day of life

Just what I do everyday of my life!

              ~My day of life~

The early morning

gives such a peace

to the soul

deep down inside

Even though I don't

want to get up �" I do

I pad over to the window

opening the blinds

The sun's shining

with its warm rays

radiating down on earth

Ah, this home I live on

Then go to the kitchen

to make some coffee

walking across the carpet

soft and cushioned

stepping onto the linoleum

its cold shocks my system

further urging me to awaken

to start my day

Again a day of writing

and reading

oh, what a glorious day

it will be!

I have to agree that you need to invest in a pair of slippers; however, I enjoyed this poem and just liked reading it, as well. It gave me a happy feeling; it is early morning, here, right now. No sun shining, like in your poem, but that's o'kay; I am thankful for each and every new day that I allowed to enjoy. Thanks for reminding me, I haven't started the coffee, yet!

Who was it that said there is no greater solace or instruction for the soul than that which can be found in the company of books? Or something like that. lol I like this, it is soothing and calm with a happy ending. I'm very big on happy endings right now. :o)
