The Hopeful Princess

       The days go by for the lonely princess while she does her chores and tries to stay busy. Yet all she can think of is where and how her Prince is doing. Of course sometimes she isn't sure if he is hers still. From the beginning of this year things seemed different with him. She let it go that he didn't remember her during the Valentine's holiday, figuring he was trying to catch up on some work he had to put off while he was sick.

        But when she got the letter saying they had to be friends for now it cut straight to her heart. She said it felt just like someone stabbed her heart with a dagger, figuratively of course. The pain was just as real, and she thought how could he be so cruel to her. For a whole year things were going really good, and even if he couldn't come home to see her she was still happy knowing he loved her. Now sometimes she doesn't really know, she can't tell what he is thinking. She doesn't mind that he is working, for he loves what he does. But just an occasional message from him is all she wants. Each day that passes it doesn't get any easier, she still misses him and wants to feel him in her arms.

                She wakes up wondering how he is, and out loud she says 'good morning' to him. Then she kisses his picture and says to him “ I love you”, even though he can't here her. Her love is so strong for him, and she has come to care so much for her prince that she was willing to let him go. Always hoping that one day he will come back to her. She writes to him so he always knows she is ok, and that her feelings for him have not changed any. Will they end up together only God knows, but she hopes so. She has told him she wants nobody else but him, and that she will keep the door to her heart closed. She does this cause she feels she belongs to him, that he is the only one she trusts with her heart and body.

           To be with him is her ultimate hope, to give him the happiness he has gone without for so long. Sometimes she feels she may have to resort to tactical measures so they could spend some time with each other. Whether he would get mad she doesn't know, but she will wait and see, for she loves her prince so much.

Ahhh the being friends thing is the ultimate sting when you love someone... some get to wrapped up in things like work and let love slip away, I can't understand those people... a very nice little story that i am sure many can relate to.
