Just one of my many poems I have written.

DREAMS


I stir and waken
Turn looking at you
So peaceful at sleep


Is this a dream?
Please tell me so
I just don't know

We live each day
As if it's our last
Not forgetting the past


Why does love hurt?
The pain is there
We said we'd never part


The alarm goes off
I jump out of bed
Time to start a new day


I tiptoe quietly
Out of the room
Not wanting to awaken you


Then I come back
To see you and say goodbye
I look but your not there


I remember then
It was just a dream
Of wanting to love another.

Very simple but strong emotional pull... the haunting of a loved one can seem to last a lifetime... been here, dreams are not enough.
