I know

This is a poem I wrote about a dear friend that I absolutely love, and this is what I wrote for him.

 

I Know

 

I know....

you don't love me

still... I love you!

I know...

that you like me

as a close friend

 

Yet.... you

wanted to get to know me

just who I really am

where I'm from

and where I've been

 

Then....one day things

seemed to fall apart

we never talk

or took a walk

 

What was it - life?

....yours or mine

that got in our way

never sharing any time

 

Life's funny that way

making you all crazy

the roads are bumpy

making things hazy

 

time will tell if

things are meant to be

yet I know...

a friend in me

you'll always see.
