Words of our livesA Story by Ice QueenJenThis is just a short summary of my take on how we view our lives.
Life as we know it?
Are you happy, sad, glad or mad?
Do you find yourself ecstatic, blissful, or at times feeling ugly and argumentative?
Are things in your life sensational..... or downright crummy?
Your life can be described by words we commonly use each day. So many are the words to express our daily lives, like peaceful, content or wild. Yes, some even say that “you can run wild like the wind!”
Have you ever been told to calm down, or be still? And when you're young and you get bored, you are told to use your imagination.... then when we do, you're scolded and told to grow up!
Yet no matter what age we are, should we stop being child-like? In some ways yes... and others no- for in every aspect of life it is filled with double standards.
Each decade had there own views on life and how it should be described.
Like the roaring twenties, where many people loved going to dance halls where they danced the night away.
Or the fifties with its rock n roll era, with the likes of Elvis shaking his hips to the crowds. To the Beatles who introduced the youth to having long hair, and music that seemed to irritate the adults.
In the seventies, there were people referred to as hippies, they could said to be content. Because all they seemed to do was sit around, as an individual or in groups. This dismayed the older generation, since they thought of them as good-for-nothing bums. And maybe some were, but not all of them for many held down some form of a job. Yet it could be said that these individuals led a carefree and basically happy life.
The eighties brought there own ways of describing life. This was the decade of the metal heads, where many found themselves angry or discontent with life. Many of the songs being played were going from dark and depressing .....to full of sexual innuendos..
But now it's the year 2008, and have any of the feelings changed? Throughout the world you can see people who are happy....sad or some are even distraught with their lives. So in whole nothing has really changed. For we are all human beings....
