The Meeting of a LifetimeA Story by Ice QueenJenThis was a story for the twist contest- but as usual I was late entering it. But thought I would post it anyway..... enjoy! With her sultry eyes, from across the room she gazed at him. He glanced her way, subtly smiling, then went back to talking with the woman sitting next to him. Ingrid was a tall blond, moderately shaped woman of about 30 years old. Totally the opposite to the other woman he began to admire.
Lucinda was a beautiful woman with dark brown eyes, and a natural tan being of Puerta Rican descent. She had a figure that would turn heads where ever she was. Yet most men were afraid to get to close to her, for some reason her looks intimidated them. Lucinda had immigrated from her native land while she was in her early childhood. she was raised by some people who promised her parents that she would have a better life in America.
What her parents didn't realize was that she might have been happier in San Juan with them. But instead she was raised by a foster family until the ripe age of 18. then she was moved once again to another place, one where she was given special training. This training would eventually be fore the ultimate occupation of her life!
Lucinda spoke quietly to the bartender, and soon a waiter was next to the gentleman with a glass of whiskey. He bent down, then whispered to the gentleman " Compliments of the young lady at the bar, sir."
He glanced at the drink, then over at Lucinda...... then smiled. He turned to the waiter, telling him " Please do thank the young lady for me."
He glanced up at Lucinda, and stared at her with a long hard look. Just then someone at the table said something funny, and his date touched his arm bringing him back to reality. His look turned back to his dinner guests, again forgetting all about the beauty..... until he reached for the drink....
He again smile as he took a nice long sip of the whiskey. As he let the flavour of the sweet Jim Beam slowly trickle down his throat.... he thought of how he could savor every inch of her lovely body!
His dinner guest, Ingrid leaned over to him and asked, " What is it dear? You seem preoccupied with something, is everything alright?"
Andreas answered "Oh it is nothing. I am fine- don't worry your pretty little head. Just sit and enjoy your fine meal Ingrid."
Ingrid answered back sweetly " Alright Andreas, if you are sure nothing is wrong."
Andreas thought to himself ' I only took you out Ingrid as a favor to a friend. She is really nothing special- but then most of the women I have dated were a mere fleeting pass time.' As Andreas picked up the glass of whiskey, he began to think of the dark sultry woman...... such a beauty. He looked over at the bar where she had been sitting, but she was gone!
"Where could she have gone?" Andreas said quietly to himself.
None of his guests heard him thankfully. Just then he saw her over near the restroom foyer. He cordially turned to his guest and said, " Excuse me, I have to use the facilities." Andreas rose and walked toward the restroom area. Upon entering the foyer, he saw no sign of the ravishing beauty he soon wanted to pursue. He looked around, then waited to see if she would come out of the woman's lounge, but nothing. He soon returned to the table with his dinner guests, as they were laughing at someone's joke. He to pretended to be listening and laughed as they were.
Again another waiter came over to the table, with another drink in hand. While setting it down he said, " This is from the young lady at the corner table."
Andreas looked over and saw the Puerta Rican beauty; he took the glass and tipped it in a thank you fashion. Lucinda looked at him with a wicked grin, then went back to enjoying her meal. Andreas had noticed that Lucinda was sitting with an astute gentleman. The older man was graying in a fine manner, showing he had style and class. Andreas wondered why a woman like her would be attended by such and older gentleman. Such a beauty as she was, he had no doubt she could get any man she wanted.
In fact the more he thought about her....... he wanted her! He had to find a way to be with her too. Andreas again excused himself, rose from the tabler and headed for the restroom foyer. Once there he caught the attention of a waiter, asking for something to write a note on. The waiter took out his pad and handed it to Andreas, along with a pencil.
The waiter said " Sorry sir it's the best I can do for you."
Andreas said " It's fine, I just want to send a short note to the lovely lady in the corner booth. Could you please deliver it to her when I am done?"
The waiter answered " Oh you mean Lucinda? The young woman seated with the older gentleman?"
"Yes" Andreas said while writing the note.
He folded the note and handed it to the waiter, saying " Please take this to Ms. Lucinda right away."
The waiter said " As you wish Sir!"
" Its Andreas, Andreas Renoult," he said proudly to the waiter.
The waiter bowed his head, then walked away and toward the table Lucinda occupied. As Andreas watched, he saw Lucinda open the note after thanking the waiter.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The following note read:
Ms Lucinda,
I must see you........I need to talk with you. You enchant me with your stunning beauty and grace. Please meet with me later!
cordially, Sir Andreas Renoult
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lucinda looked at her gentleman friend, smiled then said " He took the bait, the plans in motion. Mr. Andreas Renoult wishes to meet with me!"
The older gentleman replied, " Are you sure you're ready for this encounter with him?"
Lucinda rested her hand on his arm, saying " Don't worry Senor, it will be fine. I will break it to him in the most delicate way possible. Lucinda's eyes sparkled as she gazed over at the older man. She was with him for one reason, and one reason only.
Andreas glanced over at Lucinda and saw her eyes sparkle. He thought to himself, ' My oh my she is such a gorgeous woman. I must hold her in my arms soon, very soon.'
As the night waned on, slowly the patrons of the restaurant were leaving. Only Andreas and his party were left. Andreas looked over at Ingrid, it wasn't that he disliked her. She was just not his type of woman, even though she was beautiful..... a stunning blond with a dynamite figure.
Andreas turned to his friend Rudolf, and whispered " Would you be so kind as to escort Ingrid to her flat? I have some business to attend to with someone. I would be most grateful if you could do so, Rudolf."
Rudolf looked at Andreas, " No problem Andreas. I'll be happy to see she gets home safely. May I inquire who this unexpected business is with..... or is it private?"
Andreas cleard his throat, then said quietly, "It's with the stunning brunette over to the right of you. She is sitting with an older gentleman, but I am sure they are just friends."
Rudolf exclaimed, " Ah Andreas, do be most careful. You know she looks cunning, and a bit devious."
Andreas' eyes got wide, and said, " Yes very; thank you for your concern for my.... as you might say- health! You're a good friend Rudolf, and I will be on my guard for sure!"
Just them some of the dinner guests said it was time for them to leave, and Rudolf mentioned that he should go too. Andreas leaned over to Ingrid and said, " I'm so sorry I cannot escort you home, Ingrid. But Rudolf has graciously offered to take my place in seeing you to your home. I have some business to attend to, and it will keep me out late. I do hope you will forgive me?"
As Ingrid looked over at Rudolf, then back to Andreas she said "It will be fine, Andreas. I'm sure Rudolf will be a gentleman to me."
Andreas stated proudly, " Yes he will, now go I must take care of this business now."
Andreas stood, then pulled out Ingrid's chair and graciously kissed her cheek. Rudolf walked around and held out his arm for Ingrid to take. He gave a wicked smile to Andreas, then said " Good night Andreas!"
Andreas sat back down and took a sip of whiskey. While he was drinking, Lucinda made her way over to the table he was occupying.
" Mr. Renoult, How are you tonight?" Lucinda asked.
As Andreas stood, he said " I'm fine, please be seated."
"Thank you, I will" Lucinda said, after sitting in the chair she pulled out.
After Andreas sat back down he asked her, " Would you care for a drink, Ms. Lucinda?"
Lucinda held out her hand, and said " No thank you Andreas..... May I call you Andreas?"
Andreas answered politely " Yes, of course you can. Now what is this business you have with me? If I may be so bold, and to the point?"
Lucinda shot Andreas a cool smile, then let out a short laugh.
Andreas' eyes thinned out, and he asked " What is so funny?"
Lucinda said nonchalantly " Oh nothing, my dear sweet brother!"
Andreas' mouth opened wide in shock, then said " You are my sister?"
Lucinda proceeded to tell him the story of how they were both taken from Puerta Rico when they were both young children. Both were raised by special families, and groomed for one special thing= to be one of the wealthiest families in America!
Andreas finally spoke up saying " I thought you were one of those ladies, and you wanted your way with me."
As Lucinda looked at her long lost brother, she laughed and laughed. She finally stopped long enough to say " Oh Andreas, don't flatter yourself. You my dear are not my type!"
