Do you find the news as depressing as I do? I wrote this while watching the news on tv..... enjoy!

THE NEWS

I turn on the news, but

all I find is the blues

not of the musical sort,

rather of gloom & doom

fires here, floods there

so much it's hard to bear

Then overseas it's worse

as the conflict rages on

in one place after another

so depressing to hear

no wonder some commit

to ending life

by suicide

Is it really painless

on the other side

of life?

Death is the opposite

obscure in its ways

much like a person

sleeping

Yet, we mourn over

those who pass on

either by natural

or unnatural means

But what is natural?

Why do we die?
