Donating Lies

Donating Lies

A Poem by Junaid Siddiqui
"

My emotions expressed on paper: When people keep lying to fulfill their agendas and you know the truth but can't do anything to stop it.

"

Tell me what I don't already know,
Don't tell me lies that will unfold.
I've grown weary of stories told
Becoming none but lies that grow.

It sickens me to hear the lies
Of matters that wear a disguise,
Of matters that hold a great prize.
Spare me of your purposeless tries.

The truth is but simply simple;
An attempt to hide your wrinkles
That dwarf large canyons. The twinkle
In your eyes is the truth's temple.

Thanks for your generosity.
I'll cherish the truth modestly,
Whilst you destroy in self-preservation,

while I will await your declaration.

Was this poem a personal poem or was it more of an abstract thought? I enjoyed reading it and just wanted to know more about the background. I sense anger at some parts and then it briefly fades, there are such a mix of emotions. I really enjoyed it.
