Unhappy Plate

Unhappy Plate

A Poem by john l smith
"

choices??

"

Unhappy plate

Two plates happily together, right from the start

Now, one preferred a meatball, the other a tart

They had been together, since the start of their days

Now they were to go off, on their separate ways

Strange how a diet can be so obtuse

Now each for the other, had simply no use

The plate with its meatball, went onto the table

The tart, on the other, on a lap, there less stable

No problems on the table were seen to ensue

But the plate with the tart, on a lap went askew

Onto the floor, there now broken and more

A true case of horror and gore, to simply abhor

Had they stayed together, as had before

Would not have happened, that on the floor

Just for the sake of a meatball and tart

Their time together, is now forever apart

As usual, your imagination is off the charts! This reminds me of the first time I was promoted to work in corporate engineering, all fancy-schmancy, & at the first potluck I dumped a whole plate of food across my b***s! So for me, you've penned a very believable scenario! Please never get serious! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

There is often much sorrow in parting, but this is extreme. All because of a menu disagreement, one now lies shattered! Oh, well, she was a tart. Are we getting silly yet?

I guess it is on the fringe but the truth is, I don't enjoy being serious

Both of the choices are tasty and filled with goodness...but, they're DIFFERENT CHOICES!
Two passengers in a boat can't row towards two different ways at a time....A relationship resembles this boat for me...
It's so innovative of you to present such a meaningful piece....Loved the imagery indeed! Be blessed :)

Oh yes indeed, lessons in relationships here. What fun meatballs and tarts. Well they do say a bit of variety spices things up nicely. Too much of the same, and all that. Love your poem, it has so much humour in it as well as a message :))
