Unhappy PlateA Poem by john l smithchoices??Unhappy plate Two plates happily together, right
from the start Now, one preferred a meatball,
the other a tart They had been together, since
the start of their days Now they were to go off, on
their separate ways Strange how a diet can be so
obtuse Now each for the other, had
simply no use The plate with its meatball, went
onto the table The tart, on the other,
on a lap, there less stable No problems on the table were
seen to ensue But the plate with the tart,
on a lap went askew Onto the floor, there now
broken and more A true case of horror and gore, to simply abhor Had they stayed together, as
had before Would not have happened, that
on the floor Just for the sake of a
meatball and tart Their time together, is now
forever apart © 2019 john l smithAuthor's Note
