Atlantis

I’ve been to Europe and America

And across the seven seas

I’ve skied down greatest mountains

And smelled the tropic breeze

I’ve swam the outer islands

Flew to the Bahamas for my bed

Surfed the coast of Australia

Watched as lion cubs were fed

I have trekked across Antarctica

And baked in Sahara sand

I’ve stood by volcanic fissures

And been a drummer in a disco band

I driven the twisty road to Hana

In a brand new rental car

But there is with one thing

I’ve not gotten very far

Although I've tried day and night

Things always seem to go amiss

Trying to get a connecting flight

To the island of Atlantis

Plato said it existed

I’m sure he must be right

But even as a travel agent

I can’t access that site

I remember reading stories about it when I was young. It has to be there somewhere. Many are looking for a different travel agent. :)

Your rhymes are great in this. Thanks for sharing this gem.

Ah the underwater Atlantis, lost to this world. Remains a lovely mystery. You took me to many places Dave with this write. Very visual and nicely composed. All good wishes.

I hear they have a travel agent in Shangri-La who offers tours to Atlantis. He only takes chicken teeth for currency, however. After searching every hen house in Arkansas, I found two with lips and one that had crossed the road nine times, but none with teeth. Currently, I'm trying to cross a piranha with a rhode Island red. If the offspring has a mouthful of pearly whites, I'll share them with you. It'll be off to Atlantis for Sam and Dave! (Dibs on the mackerel girl with big fins)

Perhaps - but are you sure you really want to go?
The Road to Hana - huh? Ever wonder what it must be like to drive that road at night?

Take care - Dave
