Big Appetite

Big Appetite

Big Mouth

Sidney Squirrel ate nuts and dates and those sorts of things
But one day he ate a bee's nest, and that super crazy stings
No matter what he usually gobbled, it tasted really neat
But bee's nest aren't really meant, for little squirrels to eat

His mouth got swollen up, till it was bigger than his head
Which let him eat pumpkins whole, and kept him nicely fed
And eating oranges by the dozen, meant he got lots of pulp
No matter what he ate, it all went down in one big gulp

When the swelling went away, his mouth shrunk back to size
In one week he lost 50lbs. which was quite a surprise
But could climb to the highest branch, with never ending ease
And he'd spend all day and night, climbing through the trees

But no matter how much he ate, it didn't sustain him for long
He had to eat day and night, just so he could stay real strong
So he decided to eat another bee's nest for his lunch
And now he can once again, consume bananas by the bunch

My oh my! He must have to climb up on some very strong branches! I'm curious though, where does this squirrel live that he has access to bananas by the bunch?
I envy your gift for the the imaginative way you deal with your characters.

Take care - Dave

You just never know what these squirrels will get to
Just when I thought I'd seen the breadth of your imagination, I find out you can stretch it even further! I love your rhyme & rhythm, I love your use of the little critters in your playful storytelling, but more than anything I'm just awed by your ability to think up a storyline that goes on forever! I read on with a sense that this couldn't get any crazier, & it does! Hope your 2019 is full of your delightful crazies for us to enjoy (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
