Big AppetiteA Poem by john l smithmealtimeBig Mouth Sidney Squirrel ate nuts and dates and those sorts of things But one day he ate a bee's nest, and that super crazy stings No matter what he usually gobbled, it tasted really neat But bee's nest aren't really meant, for little squirrels to eat His mouth got swollen up, till it was bigger than his head Which let him eat pumpkins whole, and kept him nicely fed And eating oranges by the dozen, meant he got lots of pulp No matter what he ate, it all went down in one big gulp When the swelling went away, his mouth shrunk back to size In one week he lost 50lbs. which was quite a surprise But could climb to the highest branch, with never ending ease And he'd spend all day and night, climbing through the trees But no matter how much he ate, it didn't sustain him for long He had to eat day and night, just so he could stay real strong So he decided to eat another bee's nest for his lunch And now he can once again, consume bananas by the bunch © 2019 Dave Brown© 2019 john l smithReviews
