Like sugar and spice! Reese Witherspoon looks cute floral dress for fashion event... as Miranda Kerr

For an event as stylish as the Council of Fashion Designers of America and Vogue Fashion Fund bash on Tuesday, guests were no doubt expected to dress to impress.

And that was apparently an effortless task for Reese Witherspoon and Miranda Kerr, who went for very different looks. Reese was all about the flirty florals in a pretty white dress with a full skirt, decorated in cornflower blue and black flower designs.

The frock still allowed the actress to show off her great figure however thanks to a low-cut neckline and a knee-length hemline.

The 38-year-old strutted into the iconic Chateau Marmont hotel in West Hollywood in a pair of black and white heels, and carried a matching clutch bag.

Reese wore her bright blonde locks in romantic waves and completed her look with smoky eye make-up and pink lipstick. It was a stark contrast to the look that Miranda, who arrived a little earlier, favoured for the occasion.

The supermodel as usual showed off her sexy side in skintight black trousers with brocade gold embellishment, and a matching jacket which featured power shoulders.

Miranda, who also wore a form-fitting black tank top, added inches to her 5ft 9in frame with sky high gold heels.

The 31-year-old wore her caramel tresses in a sexy bedhead style and slipped on a pair of aviator sunglasses.  Also spotted arriving at the star-studded bash was the ever glamorous Jaime King.

It wasn’t hard to tell that the actress started her career out as a model, and she looked ready for her close-up in a skimpy frock that left her impossibly long and slender legs on full display.

The barely there ice blue and red satin number had cream patterns which boasted dandelion motifs, and she easily navigated cobblestones outside the venue despite her heeled white sandals.

The blonde beauty, 35, had her locks poker straight and pouted her scarlet red lips, finishing off her ensemble with a green crocodile skin clutch bag.

Meanwhile, pregnant Milla Jojovich dressed her blossoming baby bump in a blue dogtooth shift dress.

Wisely wanting to be comfortable while expecting without ditching her fashionable footwear entirely, the 38-year-old Resident Evil star picked a pair of coral kitten heels.

Also in attendance were Dakota Johnson, who wore a delicate lace creation, and Rose McGowan, who sported pink trousers and a matching top with a barcode printed across it.

Dianna Agron, Camila Alves, Hailee Steinfeld and January Jones were amongst the other stars at the fashionable party.

During the event, Diane von Furstenberg held back tears as she delivered a speech about the death of her fellow designer, the legendary Oscar de la Renta, on Monday.

‘We had something very sad happen,’ she said. ‘He was an incredible friend, incredible designer. He was a great American designer with Latin roots and European training. He was incredible.

‘Actually, Reese [Witherspoon] is wearing an Oscar dress in the issue [of Vogue]this month. He's just irreplaceable so I don't want to be sad, but I think that it's important that we remember him and how happy he was.’

Diane added: ‘He loved life, so he would not want us to be sad. I just want to say we love him and we'll never forget him. He will always stay in our hearts.’
