Kristen Stewart catches up with good friend Alicia Cargile as she denies they are a couple

They are the best of friends. And true to form Kristen Stewart lunched with her former assistant Alicia Cargile in Los Feliz, California on Sunday,

But the 24-year-old actress has taken the unusual step of denying that there relationship is anything more than friendship, claiming rumours to the contrary are 'bulls***'.

'Just being in the middle of it it's weird to comment on it,' she told the September issue of France's Vanity Fair. 'But I don't want to add to this already pre-existing, enormous mound of salacious bulls*** that isn't real.

'It's like a soap opera. I try not to let it mess with me, because my true personal life, as much as people think they know about it, they don't know d*** s***.'

The day before her lunch with Alicia the Twilight star had jetted home from New York following a series of press events for her latest films Clouds Of Sils Maria and Camp X-Ray.

For the casual meal Kristen dressed in her trademark androgynous style wearing a dark grey sweater, skinny jeans and white sneakers.

The brunette beauty had her windswept hair naturally loose as she covered her eyes with a pair of black circular sunglasses.

Alicia was similarly dressed in a light grey pullover and a black beanie on her head. Kristen's film Camp X-Ray, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January, will be released on October 17.

The actress currently has five movies in post-production and one of them, Still Alice, has sparked Oscar buzz for the star.

Bosses at Sony Pictures Classic are currently preparing to mount pre-Academy Awards campaigns for Kristen as well as the movie's main star Julianne Moore.
