chapter 3A Chapter by @julizaChapter 3 Nix Year, 4004 “There it is. Servus castra, Your new home.” One of the guards shouted. The metal spiked gated rose up out of the fog like a demon sent from Hell. Suddenly I knew I couldn’t take another second of this horror. I had to get out. The urge to escape was so strong I couldn’t feel anything else. I needed to get away. My whole body needed to got out of the shackles, away from the weapons. I couldn’t die here in this line. The feeling that came over me in the next moment was like being claustrophobic, in the smallest enclosed room in the world. The feeling of needing to escape but not being able to. “Oh my God…” The slave to my right was staring at me. In fact so were all the slaves and all the guards. Even the general stared, slack jawed, empty eyed. I looked down at myself as if I would see something spectacular, unheard of, remarkable, or impossible. I saw all four. My legs had somehow transformed into swirling, foaming, leg shaped columns of water. I watched in panic as my hips, torso, chest, arms, and neck followed. I could feel the slight tingle run to my chin, my lips and up the rest of my face. In the last second that my eyes were able to capture they skimmed the faces of the terrified slaves, the frozen soldiers, and the awed general, before locking on the mountain line at the edge of my vision. Something unexplainable pulled me toward them. Dragged me away from the line of half dead men to the range of dancing mountains. The last word that was able to escape the dark broken shelves of my brain was, there. xxxxx Pain sliced up my right arm. It soon invaded my thoughts when I realized my body had tuned back from the flimsy droplets of water that had spread out across the 2,000 miles of field, forest, plains, and valleys in a matter of seconds. I pulled myself off the rock my arm had connected with as I recalled the strange tingling sensation. The new ability I had somehow acquired had dumped me at the base of the largest mountain I had ever seen. A sound like water being poured on fiery hot coals pierced through the large valley causing me to trip and fall into a scraggly bush. © 2015 @juliza |
