What is opportunity?A Story by joeThis opportune. Fate ever changing, one life all too predictable. Strange to wonder a different lifetime. When I could easily determine not only my state of place but mind in a different dimension, vice my own. Behaving one dimensional in comfort, is soothing in waves of outward phlegmatic presentation. However it is eerie and cumbersome in its self-pragmatic trans of loll. Moving as if entranced, straying from the missing reality, hasted past what is not a haze of an image. Attention is given, from a moment’s breather. Fooled I was, In the midst of illusion’s ease, I was. Privilege of neglect over-granted. My sight was exceeded. Mistaken, I am now forlorn. The sounds of rain hitting cold cement from a distance misrepresented for the crackles of a warm fire being kempt ablaze. A lamenting reminder of opportunity lost when the hand that held me was but placed and not clutched by the fervency I held within. In this moment of solitude I even wish to be by your side in regret for not grasping you when you called me your’s. Humble and subtle I stumble is my personality. Humph... you were more than a trip and so I fell worse than the cascading leaves of fall. Erratic and iridescent is what you got me phasing. Still living under a sun and so you follow me like a shadow. Your face... the memory of your dimensions which brought me out of that monotony that swallowed you whole. The weary repetitiveness and tiresome boredom which left you with a reason to look for excitement. Bury me now..So what is this if you are but a mirage to me now… Headrest lying south. Bedhead awakening, everything made so hard when you left me to myself. Even just getting up in the morning to remind myself, I am not hollow Funny thing waking up on my own. I maintain a professional structure unwavered; however things remain placid without the eccentric essence of your everyday motion. What a loss of opportunity this moment is to wonder a different lifetime vice my own... © 2016 joe |
