Coy Mistress

Coy Mistress

A Poem by joe
"

acquitted love

"

Thinking, Love should not be acquired by reason but by the Heart with no reason

The betrothal carved by his hand to his coy mistress

Afraid of exposing cuts more deep than a blade can ever make

Only children past their Golden Age unrelentingly detained by the burns of their sins,

Flesh undressed presenting naked scars for an audience of adolescence

The passage of tears running down my arm
