The weather made you think of her and not me.

The weather made you think of her and not me.

A Poem by fatigued woman

The weather made you think of her and not me.

Beams across branches,

Cherries coming way in front of gothic dreams,

Sadness melting away from an innocent blue,

So you thought of her and not me.

Because as we stood on top of the mountain,

We rolled opposite ways towards Poseidon

And towards a tsunami that would

Shake our home and tear our walls.

So you thought of her and not me.

Because while you wanted a lullaby,

I gave you rock and roll with dull claws

That could protect no one,

And bronze stars when you wanted gold.

So you thought of her and not me.

Moisture in the air carries my tears so that they can float around me like a blanket,

The sun always my protector and a pre-emptive black hole for everything I need to discard.

Every stroke on the canvas my vitamin and my solace,

Love letters to families on grass and to youth at my feet.

You took that all away from me, because you thought of her and not me.

Beautiful! It really resonates with me. One note - in the 4th stanza it says, “… a pre-emptive black hole for every I need to discard.” I think you either meant, “…for ever I need to discard,” or, “…for everything I need to discard.” Wonderful job!
