The fire has set

The fire has set

And it’s spreading slowly

You know your burning

But you don’t move

Yet

You think of moving

But to what

Why

Where do you go?

 

The fire is catching                           

And its warmth has spread

But you stay still

And burn yourself

 

You’re turning to ashes

And melting away

But it still brings you joy

To just stay still

 

A smile on your face

And tears down your cheek

Fire in your breath

And all around the heat

 

The fire has set

And it’s spreading slowly

You know your burning

But you don’t move

Cause you’ve been waiting for your whole life

For a fire like that

To spread

And burn

In desire

Cause you were the cause that

The fire had set

Very nice use of words. Some fires of love get stronger and expand. This is true love. I like the hope, the energy and the use of the fire to create need and good ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
