WHERE I COME FROM

WHERE I COME FROM

A Poem by yashmita13

WHERE I COME FROM

crunching leaves
a smell of the chilling breeze
snakes, beetles, butterflies
dancing around as the wind goes by

sleeping with stars above your eyes
and the mysterious sounds from the caves
missing it all as my flight flies high
knowing it'll never be the same

dried lakes; no fish to swim
no leaves to shade you from the harsh sunlight
insects and bees not coming out to play
anymore tonight

i have come back, but to what?
the leaves on ground
or the factory smoke?
the place where i was before
this isn't where i come from......but the place that was here not-so-long ago

the place where i cry
laugh, eat and dance
the only place i could feel the sky

the place that i came from
the place that now has gone.

I enjoyed the poem. I like the questions asked and the honest walk in the poetry.
"the place where i cry
laugh, eat and dance
the only place i could feel the sky

the place that i came from
the place that now has gone."
Thank above lines stand on their own. Truth in them. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

I guess it's true...you can never go home again. Likely better we take home with us for even if the memory fades we remember the outline ( : O )
